Once upon a time, fairy tales were not always meant to have happy endings…
This October, step inside Spelled Ink for an evening of dark fairy tales, eerie folklore, warm drinks, and good old-fashioned Halloween atmosphere as we gather for our October Thrills & Chills Book Club.
Our featured book is The Scary Book of Fairy Tales by Tim Rayborn, illustrated by Neil Evans—a beautifully creepy collection that ventures beyond the familiar versions of beloved stories to explore their darker, stranger, and far more unsettling roots.
From Little Red Cap and Bluebeard to Baba Yaga, La Llorona, and ghost stories from Japan, this collection travels across cultures and centuries to uncover the haunting endings hiding beneath stories we thought we knew.
So come settle in for a cozy October night at Spelled Ink. Bring your book, your favorite fall sweater, and your willingness to discover that happily ever after isn't always part of the story.
