Join Indigenous artist Brian McLean for a two part beading workshop where participants will create their own beaded poppy while learning foundational Indigenous beadwork techniques and skills.

In Part 1, participants will begin beading their poppy design, learning techniques, bead placement, and stitching methods. In Part 2, participants will complete their poppy by adding edging and attaching a faux hide and pin backing.

This welcoming, hands on workshop offers an opportunity to spend time together, learn beadwork skills, and create a meaningful piece of art. Participants of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.

The poppy is widely recognized as a symbol of remembrance and honour for those who have served. Through the process of creating a beaded poppy, participants will explore Indigenous artistic traditions that reflect generations of creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural expression.

All supplies included, but feel free to bring your own selection of materials and tools if you prefer.
