Own Your Game: Confident Bodies (Girls Forward x PacificSport)
About this Event
Own Your Game: Confident Bodies – A Free Multi-Sport Program for Girls 8–12
Calling all girls ages 8–12! Girls Forward Foundation and PacificSport Interior BC are proud to present Own Your Game — a free, six-week multi-sport and mentorship program this Fall in Kamloops!
Running every Thursday from Sept 17 – Oct 29 (no program Oct 8 due to facility closure), this program empowers girls to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and thrive through physical activity - all while strengthening body awareness, healthy boundaries, and gender-based violence (GBV) prevention. Whether you’re new to sport or already active, all girls are welcome in this fun, inclusive space.
This FREE program is offered by Girls Forward Foundation in partnership with PacificSport Interior BC.
Program Structure:
Each 2-hour session (5:00 – 7:00 PM) includes:
- Fun, engaging multi-sport activities designed to build skills, confidence, and teamwork
- Workshops from our new curriculum, Confident Bodies and Confident Futures, focused on body awareness, autonomy, consent, and self-advocacy
- Mentorship opportunities with inspiring women leaders and athletes
- Community-building with like-minded girls in a supportive, empowering environment
- Complimentary period kits for participants, thoughtfully provided thanks to a generous donation from Iris + Arlo, a Canadian, woman-owned period care brand!
Beyond Participation:
This program goes beyond sport - it equips girls with the tools to feel safe, confident, and in charge of their own wellbeing.
- Within sport: Participants and leaders gain tools to recognize healthy boundaries, build safe environments, and support GBV prevention in sport settings.
