This independent art exhibition is organised by Our Journey Counselling & Wellness x Just Some Simple Things.
Why This Exhibition?
This exhibition is designed to hold space for the emotional rollercoasters we all experience, the highs, the lows, and everything in between. This is a space where real people share their real stories through art, words and more, inviting you to connect with whatever you're feeling, whether it's overwhelming, numb, or just a little messy. It’s a chance to engage deeply with artwork that speaks to you, or simply observe without any pressure. This space understands that emotions can sometimes feel like 'a lot,' and it's okay to feel them, or not.
What You Can Expect:
There will be a collection of art pieces that explore the complexities of human emotions and creative expression. You will have the opportunity to engage with an array of captivating visual pieces, some of which will be available for purchase as a meaningful addition to your personal collection.
Some of the installations will also be interactive in nature, in which you will be invited to participate and engage to foster a deeper connection between self-expression and mental well-being. There will also be workshops available* as an add-on should you wish to participate in exploring means to boost mental wellness through creative means!

Please note that there's limited slots available per day. You will need to accquire a ticket and be registered through this eventbrite platform to be admitted.
*Do note that workshops are not included in the General Admission ticket, please 'Add-On' your preferred workshop to your cart when purchasing your ticket. Please ensure that you will be able to attend the workshop at their respective date and timeslot. Workshops are limited to 10 pax per day.
1) Joy through the Art of Tidying , 09 Nov 2024 (3pm - 4:30pm):
Our physical surroundings greatly influence our mental and emotional well-being. A cluttered environment often mirrors a cluttered mind, affecting our mood and overall well-being. Decluttering, however, offers a way to regain a sense of calm.
In this workshop, certified KonMari®️ Consultant Jinda will introduce the KonMari®️ method, developed by renowned tidying expert Marie Kondo. Jinda will share practical techniques and easy-to-follow strategies to help you reduce clutter.
Join us to discover how, through the art of tidying, you can create a space that sparks joy and nurtures emotional wellness in your everyday life.

2) Zentangle®️ Art for Mindful Self-Care, 10 Nov 2024 (3pm - 4:30pm):
Discover and experience the joy of Zentangle®️ Art as a creative outlet for self-expression in a supportive and nurturing environment. This easy-to-learn art form involves creating intricate patterns using simple strokes, offering a stress-free way to express yourself and your creativity. Whether you're an experienced artist or a complete beginner, Zentangle®️ Art is accessible to everyone.
Join us in this workshop to give yourself some “Me Time” to explore your feelings, express your authentic self and unleash your artistic potential through this mindful and therapeutic art form.

Cocoachnutty was born out of Our Journey Counselling & Wellness desire to continuously support our clients after they’ve completed their sessions with us. It is important to recognise that healing and learning about yourself is a continuous process. Even as we say goodbye, it does not mean it’s the end.
Like Cocoachnutty, we believe that everyone has a silly, carefree and “Nutty” side to them that may have been deliberately hidden due to certain circumstances. Cocoachnutty serves as a reminder that it is okay to let loose and be ourselves.
We hope that Cocoachnutty reminds people that there is no shame in seeking help. In creating stories, we hope people can resonate with the stories and change the way they think about mental health. Along the way, we wish to use this character as a medium and provide assistance and resources for people who need them.
