The World Within: Yoga, Sound Bath, Meditation & Dinner
About this Event
We spend so much of our lives exploring the world around us. This is an evening to explore the one within.
Three unhurried hours to slow down, feel good in your body, quiet your mind and share a meal with people you’ll be glad you met.
No experience needed. Just come as you are.
The evening:
Move → Rest → Discover→ Breathe → Connect→ Nourish
- MOVE. Playful, flowing yoga set to music. Easy to follow, with chair options for anyone who needs them.
- REST. Lie back for a deep yoga nidra, wrapped in a live sound bath of strings and flute.
- DISCOVER. A short film, Love Moves the World, on how one simple idea has reached people in 182 countries.
- BREATHE. Learn a simple breathing technique you can take home, then sink into a guided meditation.
- CONNECT. Music, conversation and a warm, welcoming community.
- NOURISH. End with a delicious vegetarian dinner.
Why October 18?
One year ago today, 2,000 people gathered at the Vancouver Convention Centre for The Journey Within with Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and the City of Vancouver proclaimed October 18 as Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Day. This evening celebrates that day by giving more people a taste of what that room felt like.

The evening is led by experienced Art of Living teachers, including Christian Matta, a Sri Sri Yoga teacher who has spent decades teaching breath and meditation, including in refugee camps in the Middle East.
