The Virus of Here and Now: Bilingual Poetry Reading

The Cervantes Chair at the University of Edinburgh presents “The of Virus Here and Now”, a literary event featuring a bilingual reading of poems by acclaimed Mexican writer Cristina Rivera Garza.

Rivera Garza will be joined by Ilana Luna, Professor of Hispanic Studies, for a conversation exploring her work, her creative process, and the themes that shape her writing. The dialogue between the poet and the professor will be open to questions from the audience, offering a unique opportunity to engage directly with both speakers.

This event is organised by the University of St Andrews, the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures at the University of Edinburgh, and the Cervantes Chair.

La Cátedra Cervantes de la Universidad de Edimburgo presenta «El virus de aquí y ahora», un encuentro literario que incluye una lectura bilingüe de poemas de la reconocida escritora mexicana Cristina Rivera Garza.

Rivera Garza estará acompañada por Ilana Luna, catedrática de estudios hispánicos, con quien mantendrá una conversación sobre su obra, su proceso creativo y los temas que atraviesan su escritura. El diálogo entre poeta y profesora estará abierto a preguntas del público, ofreciendo una oportunidad única para interactuar directamente con ambas ponentes.

El evento está organizado por la Facultad de Literaturas, Lenguas y Culturas de la Universidad de Edimburgo, la Universidad de St. Andrews y la Cátedra Cervantes.
