Join City of Long Beach Public Works, Algalita Marine Research and Education and the LBReuses coalition for an exciting in person event, The Story of Plastic Film Screening, at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, CA.
This feature-length Emmy-winning documentary reveals the human side of the plastic problem. This film heroes front line communities around the world who are facing the impacts of plastic production and disposal. Get ready to dive into the world of plastic and discover its impact on our environment. This eye-opening film will take you on a journey through the life cycle of plastic, from production to disposal. We'll also have members of the LB Reuses coalition tabling, so you can ask questions, pick up go-to reusables, and learn more about reuse in action in Long Beach.
B YO Month in Long Beach
This documentary screening marks the beginning of the third-annual BYO Month in Long Beach - a week long celebration of Long Beach businesses dedicated to reducing single-use plastics. Use your reusable containers (cups, bags, take out container) at participating locations and join in on BYO Month events to collect stamp for fun prizes. More details will be announced at the screening and on on the Long Beach Recycles webpage. We cannot wait to kick single-use plastics to the curb while promoting reuse with you!
