The Scottish Graduate School of Social Science (SGSSS) / Abertay annual open meeting will take place on Wednesday 26th August, 15.00 – 16.00, in-person in the Graduate School Seminar Room,3514
Supervisors of social science PhDs, social science PGRS, and/or those interested in SGSSS for funding or training, are warmly invited to attend this one-hour open meeting. This year SGSSS willspotlight the training that they provide and share their training plans for 2026/27 (for funded and non-funded students, and for supervisors). SGSSS will also seeking input and suggestions fromcolleagues about what training opportunities they would like to see created. There will be a brief overview of the SGSSS studentship competitions and tips on preparing strong applications. SGSSSare keen to make these visits as interactive and productive as possible, as they really value these meetings and hope you will also find them useful.
SGSSS is the UK’s largest facilitator of funding, training and support for doctoral students in social science. By combining the expertise of sixteen universities across Scotland, the schoolfacilitates world-class PhD research. The school is funded jointly by the Economic and Social Research Council and the Scottish Funding Council.
