Silent Intercept - An Interactive Cyber Resilience Exercise
About this Event
Join Us at Silent Intercept | SME Leadership Event!
Most organisations have security controls, policies and plans. The harder question is whether the people who would need to respond have practised making decisions together when the situation is moving quickly.
Silent Intercept is a practical, facilitated cyber incident exercise for business leaders. You will work through a realistic developing incident, consider new information as it emerges and decide what your organisation would do next.
It is designed to help leadership, finance, operations, communications and IT people build a shared understanding of what matters when the pressure is on. You do not need to be a cyber security expert. You just need to be willing to take part in the conversation.
A cyber incident is not only an IT problem. It is a leadership, operational, financial and communications problem too.
What happens during the session?
The exercise runs through six rounds. Each round introduces new information and asks the group to decide what happens next. You will consider the situation from four connected perspectives:
- Leadership
- Finance
- Operations
- Communications
Participants make decisions, choose actions and see how those choices shape the next stage of the scenario. The facilitator keeps the exercise moving, helps the group explore the consequences and brings the learning together at the end.
What will you explore?
- How would an incident be recognised, escalated and owned?
- Who can make important decisions when information is incomplete?
- Which systems, services and people are critical to keeping the business operating?
- What would you tell staff, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders?
- How would finance, payment, evidence and reputational risks be managed?
- Where might your plans, responsibilities or assumptions need more clarity?
What you will take away
Silent Intercept is designed to leave you with a clearer, more honest view of how your organisation would respond. You will take away:
- a better understanding of how your people make decisions under pressure
- clearer questions to ask about your incident response and continuity plans
- greater awareness of the links between security, operations, finance and communications
- a shared language for discussing cyber resilience with your leadership team
- practical areas to strengthen, without being buried in technical jargon
Who is the event for?
The session is aimed at leadership-level attendees from small and mid-sized businesses, including:
- business owners and managing directors
- CEOs and senior leadership teams
- finance and operations leaders
- people responsible for risk, governance or compliance
