The Screen-Time Reset: MFR + Yin for Tech Neck with Dawn Cowell
Focus Areas: Neck, Upper Back, & Chest
Between phones, laptops, and driving, most of us spend our days in a chronic “forward head posture”—leaving the neck strained, the upper back locked, and the chest tight. The Screen-Time Reset is your antidote to the digital grind.
This 75-minute workshop combines the targeted precision of Myofascial Release (MFR) with the deep, passive holds of Yin Yoga to undo the structural habits of screen time.
What to Expect
Targeted Myofascial Release: We will use therapy balls and blocks to pinpoint stubborn trigger points and melt away dense tension in the upper back, shoulders, and the base of the skull.
Chest-Opening Yin Yoga: Once the tissue is primed, we transition into passive, prop-supported Yin postures. These longer holds will gently open the chest, re-lengthen the front line of the body, and restore natural alignment to the spine.
Extended Savasana: We will close with a luxuriously long, deeply restorative savasana to allow your nervous system to fully integrate the physical shifts and drop into total stillness.
Who Is This For?
Desk workers, students, chronic texters, drivers, and anyone carrying the literal weight of stress in their shoulders. No prior yoga or MFR experience is necessary.
What to Bring:
We will provide tennis balls and studio blocks for everyone, but students are highly encouraged to bring any personal MFR therapy balls (such as Rad Balls, or lacrosse balls) if they have a preferred set they love to use! Please also bring a yoga mat and a water bottle.
