The San Francisco Black Business Alliance for Youth Health & Safety

The San Francisco Black Business Alliance for African-American Youth Health and Safety (SF AABAYHS) (San Francisco, California, USA) brings together Black for-profit and nonprofit business leaders in the city for a vital gathering. San Francisco tells two stories. One is of progress and innovation, celebrated around the world. The other is a story of systemic neglect and exclusion, where African-American communities continually face disproportionate harm. SF AABAYHS exists to shine a light on these inequities and to forge solutions rooted in collaboration and care.

• 40% of domestic violence survivors in San Francisco are Black women, who face M**der rates four times higher than women of other racial groups.
• Black girls in San Francisco schools experience suspension rates 3–4 times higher than their white peers, reinforcing barriers instead of breaking them.
• 73% of Black students in SFUSD rely on free or reduced-priced lunch, reflecting persistent economic insecurities.
• 81% of Black students fail to meet English Language Arts proficiency standards, laid bare by systemic neglect in education.
• Black youth face incarceration rates nearly five times higher than their white counterparts, showcasing failures within the justice system.
