Based on the short-story by acclaimed Filipino American writer Carlos Buloson, The Romance of Magno Rubio is the Obie award-winning play about an illiterate Filipino farmworker in California’s Central Valley during the 1930s. Magno Rubio falls in love with a white woman from Arkansas through a pen-pal courtship and eventually learns some hard truths about love and romance and the American dream. Directed by Nathaniel Claridad.
