Rainforest Romp Contra Dance Weekend

Kick up your heels at our new in-town annual Contra Dance event! For seasoned dancers and newbies alike, come dance and make new friends in a friendly atmosphere. Bring your dancing shoes (or your dancing socks!) and enjoy the lively tunes and welcoming community. Don't miss out!

DANCE SCHEDULE
Friday Evening: 7:30pm to 10:30pm
Saturday Evening: 8pm to 11pm
Sunday English Country Dance: 10am to noon at Ste 302, Arcticorp Bldg.(Raven Yoga Shala, right across the street from church)
Sunday Contra Finale: 2pm to 5pm

SATURDAY the 18th DANCER/CALLER WORKSHOPS (with guest caller Koren Wake)

Session #1, 12:30-2:00 in the Parish Hall

PARTNERING 101: Improve your dance skills, for all levels. Some talking, lots of dancing!

Session #2, 2:15-3:45 in the Parish Hall

CALLING 101: For new callers and the "calling curious." Dancers and callers of all levels welcome!

SATURDAY the 18th MUSICIAN WORKSHOPS (with guest artists Raven & Goose)

Session #1, 12:30-2:00 in the “Large Classroom” at St. Anne’s

PLAYING FOR CONTRAS: Includes ensemble playing, rhythmic concepts, harmony/counterpoint, dynamics, chords, improvisation, communicating with callers. All the things to keep it interesting for yourselves and the dancers!

Session #2, 2:15-3:45

PLAYING FOR ENGLISH COUNTRY DANCES

TICKETING INFO - FULL WEEKEND PASSES (includes all dances and workshops).

General Adult: $100+fees

Youth/Volunteer: $80. Volunteer passes are in LIMITED SUPPLY. All Volunteer Pass holders will need to complete a short (hour-ish) shift during the weekend.
