The REC NY: Cold Spring Hike

We're headed to Cold Spring, NY for a day on the trail.

It's the perfect escape from the hustle of the city: time to slow down, breath deeper, explore nature, and connect with friends (old or new). Outside is better with your people.

This hike features superb views of the Hudson Valley, fascinating rock formations, and a little bit of history along the trail. We'll cover ~5 mile at a moderate pace, stopping along the way to take it all in and grab some quick flicks.

Every step is led by NYSDEC licensed guide Kestrel Ambrose.

After the trail, choose your own adventure: Cold Spring village is ours to explore. Food, good company, even more vibes. Or, an early train back to the city. Your choice. No rush.

All Leave No Trace principles must be strictly abided by. The REC NY will not tolerate any sort of discrimination, bullying, or harassment. By joining any REC event you are solely responsible for your own safety in transit to, during, and after any event. You assume all the risks associated with the event.

Hiking involves certain inherent risks; hikers participating do so at their own risk. When attending The REC NY hiking trips, you should be both physically and mentally prepared and equipped with the appropriate gear. The hike leader is not responsible for your safety, you are. The hike leader has the authority to turn away anyone who is not adequately prepared. Please be aware that return times are estimates and can vary based on the fitness level of the group.

Hikers should be able to do at least 30 minutes of moderate to intense exercise without becoming short of breath. Please consult a qualified healthcare provider with any questions in regard to physical injuries or medical conditions that may limit your ability to complete this activity.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All sales are final. No refunds, exchanges or exceptions. Hike happens rain or shine. For the safety of participants, hike location may change depending on trail conditions or other variables at hike leaders discretion. Any such change will be communicated via email.

Info: If you are traveling with the group, please arrive at Grand Central Station by 7:30am to check-in. Departing from a destination other than Grand Central? Please calculate your departure and travel time accordingly.

Info: Early arrival is STRONGLY recommended. Parking near the trail fills up quickly. We are unable to wait for late arrivals. Arrival Note: For the safety of all participants, late arrivals are not permitted to meet the group on the trail.
