The People's Sanctuary

The People’s Sanctuary is a program of Uzazi Village that offers an intentional space for people to engage in practices that support their own well-being while strengthening collective care. It is not only a place for rest, but a place for active participation in personal growth, resilience, and community upliftment.

Each gathering may look different. The Sanctuary brings together a variety of activities — from guided reflections and creative expression, to movement, dialogue, and other practices that help participants reconnect with themselves and each other. The focus is on building practical tools for wellness, fostering deeper self-awareness, and practicing ways of caring for one another in community.

At its heart, the Sanctuary is about shared experience. Participants are invited into a space where healing and growth are not solitary pursuits, but collective processes. By showing up for themselves and for each other, community members contribute to an atmosphere of belonging, support, and renewal.

Guided by the mission and values of Uzazi Village, The People’s Sanctuary affirms that health and healing are multidimensional and rooted in community. The ticket price includes admission to the Sanctuary as well as herbal tea provided by Uzazi Village's apothecary.
