About this Event
ABHI, UKQuantum and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology’s Office for Quantum invite you to a webinar to learn more about the transformative potential of quantum sensors in medical sensing and diagnostics
Quantum sensors promise a step-change in capability across a variety of diagnostic applications including in vitro, in vivo, imaging and intervention-based tests.
This webinar will:
- Promote awareness about the technical capabilities of quantum sensors for healthcare applications.
- Explain how you can collaborate with quantum sensing researchers and innovators.
- Highlight the Government’s strategic and economic support for adopting quantum sensors in health.
The session is aimed at HealthTech innovators, researchers, investors, health policy makers and thought leaders.
Register for this webinar today.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Nishan Sunthares - Executive Director, Diagnostics, ABHI
- Tom Newby - Deputy Director, Head of UK Office for Quantum · Department for Science, Innovation and Technology
- Roger McKinlay - Challenge Director for Quantum Technologies, InnovateUK
- Jonathan Legh-Smith - Executive Director, UKQuantum
Background
Quantum technologies are one of five critical technologies prioritised by the UK Government for their role in driving growth, supporting health and life sciences, enabling environmental sustainability, and improving national security and resilience. Quantum sensors are already showing great promise in diagnostic capabilities, and the Office for Quantum in the Department for Science Innovation and Technology (DSIT) have set out a Mission under the National Quantum Strategy to enable every NHS Trust to benefit from quantum sensing-enabled solutions by 2030.
The UK’s Quantum Strategy sets out a ten-year vision, plan and priority actions for the UK to be a leading nation in the research, development and application of quantum technologies. Quantum technologies take advantage of phenomena at the atomic scale to find new ways to manipulate information. To help deliver the strategy, the government has worked with industry, quantum experts, and investors to develop five missions that will bring significant benefits to the economy and society.
