The Mettle Method

The Mettle Method is an experiential learning program designed to address the relational dynamics of care. It is appropriate for lay caregivers, patients, anyone who loves them, and professional clinicians alike. The topics we’ll cover include rolling with change, aesthetics, perspective, making difficult decisions, grief, empathic distress and burnout, challenges to a sense of self/identity/roles, navigating healthcare, the nature of intimacy, and changes to relationships.

Who Is This Program For?

• People living with serious, chronic, or terminal illness

• People caring for a loved one living with an illness

• People working in the healthcare system to care for patients and caregivers

• People with aging parents who want to be prepared for the next phase of life

• People navigating grief due to the loss of another person

What to expect:

• Interactive training

• Conversation, practicing skills of listening and sharing

Timing

The program is provided over the course of 2 days.

• Thursday, August 15: 9am - 5pm PT
• Friday, August 16: 9am - 5pm PT

Parking available onsite and each day includes lunch for all attendees.
