Known for its haunting atmosphere and dramatic storytelling, this iconic adaptation of Victor Hugo’s novel comes to life in a whole new way with a live, improvised organ score—just as audiences experienced during the silent film era. Daniel Carroll, a rising star in the organ world and gifted improviser, will perform the entire soundtrack in real time, responding to the action on screen with musical brilliance.
Daniel joins BMPC this fall as an Organ Scholar through the Curtis Institute of Music, where he is completing his conservatory training. He began playing organ at age twelve and has since gained national recognition for his expressive playing and inventive improvisation. In 2025, he won first prize in the prestigious Taylor Competition and was a finalist in the St. Alban’s International Competition in Organ Improvisation.
Don’t miss this unique evening of music, film, and historic atmosphere in the Chapel—a thrilling way to celebrate Halloween and a rare opportunity to witness silent cinema the way it was meant to be seen and heard.
This event will be held in the Chapel. For more information, contact Tori Fisher at [email protected]
