From the earliest moments of Schuylkill County’s founding up until the present, our region has played a pivotal role in shaping the Intellectual Property (“IP”) landscape of the United States. Some of the county’s most sought-after inventions and IP have been created right here in Schuylkill County. Inventors and creators applied their craft and singled out IP, to make this county a leading source for applied innovation. Moreover, IP has played a key role in shaping this nation’s economic landscape.
This unique program will explore some of the IP that has been critical in shaping this county, this state, this county and the world!
We will also explore what economic benefit was derived as a result of the inventions by the inventors and creators. We will highlight the massive wealth that was created by those involved in and around such inventions.
We will provide an overview of IP definitions, and a look at how the county stacks up relative to other regions of the county and the world. We will also discuss what needs to occur next to ensure we safeguard the future innovations that will continue to come out of our very innovative county. We will help each audience member create a game plan that they can utilize to progress their own innovations and creativity as well as monetization of such property.
This event is free to SCHS members and $5 for nonmembers
