THE HALF CUT PLAYERS presents - Mr Punch & his Wife Judie
Two old thespians, Mistress Flute and Master Bottom, meet up again, after a long absence, for a read through of the script, with songs, of ‘THE MOST COMIC AND LAMENTABLE TRAGEDY OF MR PUNCH AND HIS WIFE JUDIE’.
Many, many years ago they played the lead roles in ‘PYRAMUS AND THISBE’ with The Rude Mechanicals, aka The HALF CUT PLAYERS!
From the start of the rehearsal it's clear that they think the script is poor and the director, even worse. They share their offstage comments and theatrical stories with the cast, Master Quince, the Director and the ‘invited’ audience.
Written by Robert Hazle - with additional material by Derek Bedford (and the profoundest apologies to William Shakespeare).
