A safe, nurturing space for women to connect, share stories, and be fully seen! We meet every Wednesday from 5.30 to 7.30pm
About this Event

The Gaia Circles are a welcoming space to slow down, breathe, and connect. Each gathering is designed to support your wellbeing, help you feel seen and heard, and remind you that you don’t have to journey through life alone.

Thanks to year-long funding from the Greenwich Healthier Communities programme, all places are free of charge. This project gives us the opportunity to reach more women, especially those who may have never joined a circle before, who feel isolated or disconnected, or who are looking for a safe space to belong.

At Gaia, our mission is to challenge the status quo in health. We believe wellbeing should be inclusive and accessible, and our vision is that one day sharing circles will be recognised as a vital part of community health and prescribed through the NHS.

Please note: Tickets are limited to 10 per session so if you book but can’t make it, please cancel your ticket so someone else can attend.

What to expect:

  • Gentle facilitation by Kika Degani, Gaia's co-founder
  • Time for open sharing and deep listening
  • Simple grounding practices such as breathwork, journaling, or reflection exercises
  • Connection, community, and a sense of belonging
  • Once a month, a guest facilitator offering a new practice (movement, sound, creativity, mindfulness, and more)
  • Tea, coffee, and light snacks provided, plus a 10-minute break between shares to enjoy a warm drink. Please bring your own cup!
  • Maximum 10 people per circle

Who we welcome

We welcome anyone who has been socialised or currently identify as women, as well as female-bodied non-binary people and trans women who feel drawn to this space. We honour the diverse lived experiences of women, and those socialised as women, and warmly welcome all who carry those identities. We especially invite women who are new to circles, who may feel a bit isolated, or who are simply looking for a gentle, supportive place to belong.

If you’re new

If you’re uncertain about joining for the first time, I’m happy to take some time to chat with you beforehand and answer any questions. Please reach out by e.mail ([email protected]) and we can arrange a time to chat - you don’t have to step into the circle alone.

Timing & Boundaries

Doors open at 5.20pm and we begin promptly at 5.30pm. To protect the safety and intimacy of the container, no late arrivals are admitted after 5.45pm. Please arrive on time to honour the group.

Venue & Accessibility

Our circles are held at Plot 9 Maze Hill. We sit in circle outdoors in a covered space, gathered around the fire. Please dress warmly and comfortably. The venue is not (yet) step-free, so if you have accessibility needs, let us know in advance so we can advise and support you.

Circle Agreements

Before joining, we kindly ask that you take a few minutes to read through our . These agreements help create a safe, supportive, and respectful space for everyone. We will also read them aloud at the start of each session, but familiarising yourself in advance will help you arrive ready to step into the circle with care and presence.

Supporting the circles

While places are fully funded, we welcome voluntary donations from those who feel called to give. Every contribution helps us sustain our vision, keep the circles thriving, and create more projects that benefit the wider community.

The circle is open. Come as you are!

Travel info
Plot 9 is in east Greenwich, just a few minutes’ walk from Maze Hill Overground Station, served by Southeastern and Thameslink trains.

Several bus routes also stop very close to the venue:

  • Greenwich Trafalgar Road / Maze Hill (Stop H) – served by the 129, 177, 188, 286, 386, and 422.
  • Maze Hill Station (Stop M or Stop N) – served by the 386.

Walking directions (if travelling by bus): From Maze Hill Station, walk up Vanbrugh Hill, then turn right onto Restell Close. Plot 9 is about halfway down the hill on the right-hand side.

Video directions (if travelling by train): The walk from Maze Hill Station to Plot 9 is short but a little convoluted, so please see the video linked below showing the route from Platform 2 (where you’ll arrive if travelling from central London).

If you’re driving, there is usually plenty of free parking available on nearby Disndale Road or Humber Road.
