About this Event

Autumn gives us a beautiful opportunity to slow down and appreciate nature's life-sustaining abundance, engage in internal reflection, and , as our tree kin do, to practice letting go of that which is no longer serving us. Join Forest Therapy School Certified forest therapist and licensed clinical social worker of 20+ years, Sarah Schroeder-Lebec, for a morning of reflection, resourcing, and rituals of release, all in the service of remembering and celebrating our deep connection to our mother earth and all of her inhabitants.

Forest bathing is so much more than a walk in the woods! It is an intentional practice of earth re-connection originating from the Japanese art of Shinrin Yoku. There are numerous mental and physical health benefits associated with this practice, and it is a joyful way to re-connect with our true nature, which is nature. Expect opportunities to engage in solitary mindfulness invitations, poetry, opportunities for communal sharing, singing, and rituals of release and renewal, all culminating in a tea ceremony of gratitude for our beloved earth mother. Come as you are and leave with a deeper sense of your deep belonging to this earth and, perhaps, a sense of respair (the opposite of despair) in these challenging times. The earth is always holding us!

*children are SO welcome and do not need a ticket-- lets get those kiddos our in the woods with us!

*while this activity is not physically strenuous, participants should be comfortable walking on uneven ground in a forest environment.

*this event will be held rain or shine; I promise the woods are beautiful in all weather but be mindful of dressing for the weather and mud if it has been rainy! bring your sense of wonder and experience our beautiful earth in all her seasons and expressions!

*this activity, while therapeutic, and run by a licensed therapist, is not considered therapy.
