The Dr Charles R. Drew Community Health Fair 2026 is a free event taking place at Whitgift Shopping Centre, Croydon, bringing together trusted health professionals, charities and community organisations in one accessible space.

Delivered by Bridges of Excellence, in partnership with the Chi Mu Mu Chapter, the event is built around a community-led approach to health. It creates a space where people feel comfortable having open conversations about their wellbeing — particularly in communities where trust in services has not always come easily.

The focus is on early awareness, prevention, and healthier lifestyle choices, helping to address long-standing health inequalities through culturally aware engagement.

Free health checks, advice and information

Including blood pressure checks, diabetes awareness, kidney health and general wellbeing guidance.

Blood type testing and donor information

Delivered by NHS Blood and Transplant, with the opportunity to learn more and register on the day.

Mental health and wellbeing support

Access to local organisations offering advice, signposting and practical support for adults, young people and families.

Youth services and support

Counselling, mentoring and wellbeing activities for children and young people.

Free haircuts and blood pressure checks for men over 40

A relaxed setting that encourages open conversations around health.

Cancer awareness and support

Connect with organisations supporting people living with cancer, raising awareness around screening, early detection, and ongoing support.

Community partners and resources

Meet organisations working across health, social care and community development.

Family-friendly environment

Activities, giveaways, and space for meaningful community connection.
