The CLF 2026 Weekend Youth Retreat (as seen on the CBC) AND Masterclass.
About this Event
In 1990 CLF created a unique training option by tailoring speakers to an audience that was sorted based on knowledge and experience. This allowed new people to have "101" presentations while those with much more experience could have conversations and presentations without speaking over the heads of others. This evolved into a four tier approach as the years went on.
2026 will see the return of the Youth Retreat but will also have a "Tier 3 & 4" designed to address topics and training suitable for those already campaign managers and candidates or those aspiring to be such in the next election cycle, be it municipal, provincial or federal. This year we are calling Tiers 3 & 4 Campaign Masterclass.
Tiers 1 & 2 will be "team" based and be assigned a Team Leader to guide and support them through the weekend. Tiers 3 & 4, or Masterclass will be much more a seminar style and individual learning model but will still have a "Mentor" assigned to support them through the weekend.
Some sessions will be plenary in nature such as "What is conservatism?" and "Read to Lead".
