Anissa Hilborn, CEO, HHSF
In February 2024, Anissa Hilborn was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation (HHSF).
With over 30 years of experience in the non-profit sector, Anissa previously held leadership positions at Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation, Erinoakkids Foundation, and CAMH Foundation. In each role, she joined these organizations at pivotal moments, aiming to establish efficient structures and recruit result-oriented teams to secure a sustainable future.
Anissa was drawn to these roles by the challenge of capacity building and organizational transformation. At HHSF, she is excited to further evolve an already well-established organization, enhancing its successes to support exceptional healthcare delivery for over 3 million Ontarians in the catchment area.
Anissa’s passion for the charitable sector began during her undergraduate education at Western University. In her senior year, Anissa was part of the student council, focusing on fundraising, which ignited her interest in the field. Although she planned to attend law school at Western, Anissa deferred acceptance to work in fundraising at the MS Society of Canada's Ontario Division.
Over time, she gained experience across all facets of fundraising, including annual giving, major giving, campaigns, and legacy.
More than 30 years later, Anissa remains grateful for choosing to pursue her passion.
