THE KENTS REUNITE TO CELEBRATE 10 YEARS OF THE WAKING EP
The Kents were a Canadian indie-rock band from Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. Known for their catchy melodies and energetic live shows, The Kents released two EPs — 2016’s Waking and 2017’s Within Waves — in the midst of four years of touring, 10 million+ Spotify streams, global radio play, and features on major sports platforms including the Olympics, Hockey Night in Canada, and MLB’s World Series Of Baseball. The Kents shared the stage with The Beaches, The Strumbellas, Hollerado, Said The Whale, The Sheepdogs, and Serena Ryder while playing staple Canadian festivals including Hillside Festival, Peterborough Folk Festival, The Beaches Jazz Festival, Supercrawl, Wolfe Island Music Festival, Cultivate Festival, and NXNE. In 2020, the band re-branded to Heaps and released their debut LP What Is Heaps, followed by a self-produced EP, Little Blue. As 2026 marks the tenth anniversary of the release of the Waking EP, The Kents are reuniting to celebrate with an Ontario tour in August 2026. With upwards of 20,000 consistent monthly listeners on Spotify currently, The Kents fans are ready for more.

Ottawa’s self-proclaimed “yuckiest three-piece”, Backseat Dragon is an indie-emo outfit made up of Carrie Blair, Cole Hallman, and Sean Lundy. With a string of sold-out shows in Ottawa and surrounding cities under their belt, the band released their Hot Dog Summer EP in Nov 2024 via Club Records. The Backseat Dragon Promise is to: Have fun, Hangout, and feel nostalgic forever <3

Hamilton, Ontario-based indie dreamgaze band Basement Revolver have been playing together for the last decade years. Co-leads Nim Agalawatte and Chrisy Hurn, have known each other for much longer. Their career started with a bang, being signed by the UK label fear of missing out on the strength of their 2016 break-out single, “Johnny”. They followed this up with three EPs in quick succession--an eponymous one in 2016, Agatha in 2017, and Wax and Digital in 2019. A full-length, Heavy Eyes, was released later that same year, supported by concerts throughout Southern Ontario, the US, the UK, and Germany. 2020-2021 was supposed to be the same--a new full length album, Embody, and touring dates to support it. The pandemic meant less touring, and different ways of being in the world. But, there was also reconsideration of who the band was. With its complex sonic landscapes, sometimes lush and sometimes stark, the resulting album Embody was of a piece with their earlier work, but deeper and more self-aware. Embody is the sound of freedom, especially in the midst of such pain, both locally and globally. Trading tracks virtually, rehearsing online, and the isolation of that means that the album is full of hopeful waiting — to tour, of course, but also to engage these new understandings in the physical world. A companion performance album, Embody Live, followed in June 2023, offering a tantalizing glimpse of the band's nuanced and highly affecting power as a live band.
