About this Event

A Celebration funded by the City of Hamilton's Creative Placemaking Grant.

Join us on August 8 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM for a joyful, multicultural outdoor celebration filled with dance, music, art, food, and community connection. This event is part of the Celebrating Community placemaking project led by artist Kinga Zak, bringing together Hamilton’s diverse cultures through movement, creativity, and shared expression.

MURAL REVEAL & RIBBON‑CUTTING CEREMONY

Celebrate the unveiling of our brand‑new community mural in the breezeway of the co‑op building —
designed by Kinga Zak and painted by Dallas Hofsten.

Join us for a special ribbon‑cutting ceremony marking the official opening of this vibrant public artwork created for and with the community.

BBQ & DRINKS

Enjoy BBQ and refreshments — available while supplies last.
A delicious way to gather, mingle, and celebrate together.

  Bengali Dances • Afghan/Pashtun Dances • Polish Disco Interactive Dance • Attan or Garba Leader Led Community Dance
• Romani Lud Ludi — 1:30–2:00 PM
  Featuring Kinga Zak sharing expressive Romani dance traditions
• Nicole Lamb & Salsa Community — 2:00–3:00 PM
  Salsa Show + Interactive Group Lesson
• Drumming Circle — 3:00 PM
  Open to all ages and rhythms concentrating on African Beats
• Swing Dance DJ + Lesson — 4:00–6:00 PM
  Social dancing, community fun, and DJ vibes
