The Beauty of Tech Art: Lecture and Workshop

EML is co-hosting two exciting events in one day: a lecture and a workshop with DesignFun, TeamLab, and the Tea Community!

Lecture

Come join us on November 21st from 3pm to 4pm in the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre, room 301 (Pena room) for a discussion with Takeshi Yamada, head of recruitment at TeamLab and learn about interactive art, and the intersection between technology and creativity.

Workshop

Join us from 4:30 to 7:30 for a TouchDesigner AI workshop, co-hosted by the TeaCommunity. Gain hands on experience integrating comfy UI with TouchDesigner software under the guidance of industry professionals.

Note: The workshop is a Bring Your Own Device event. Please ensure you bring your own computer for proper participation in the workshop.

Minimum Specs Required for the workshop (note we cannot supply a monitor either)

PC: Windows 10/ Windows 11

Nvidia GPUs: GeForce RTX 3060 Series or better

3 button mouse or 2 button mouse with scrollwheel

SSD drive recommended

Webcam: 720P or 1080: 720P or 1080

For Participants, previous experience with TouchDesigner and knowledge of AIGC tools such as Stable Diffusion and comfyUI are recommended. If the participants lack experience with TouchDesigner, it would be beneficial for them to explore here: https://learn.derivative.ca/ website, in order to acquire foundational knowledge of TouchDesigner through the 100 series and 200 series tutorials beforehand.
