Danny “Kootch” Kortchmar, the powerhouse guitarist, songwriter, and producer, stands as one of rock’s defining figures. A fixture on studios and stages with James Taylor, Carole King, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, and David Crosby, he co-wrote Don Henley’s enduring hits “Dirty Laundry,” “All She Wants to Do Is Dance,” and “Sunset Grill.” Danny played on the landmark Tapestry album, toured with Jackson Browne, and recorded with icons like Billy Joel and Neil Young, amongst countless others—a career that has left an indelible mark on American music.

Rocco DeRosa is a seasoned vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and producer whose artistry combines emotional depth with commanding stage presence. With a voice that blends grit and soul and guitar playing that stretches from searing blues lines to melodic sensitivity, Rocco has established himself as a compelling artist in his own right. His performances carry both power and subtlety, connecting with audiences through authenticity, energy, and a modern take on the roots tradition.

Joel “Harpo” Latulippe drives the band’s edge with his fiery, expressive harmonica work. Steeped in the Chicago blues tradition yet delivered with fresh urgency, Joel’s harp playing ranges from blistering solos to atmospheric textures. His presence brings grit, color, and soul to the group’s sound, bridging the rawness of the blues with the electricity of modern rock performance.

Marty Ballou, a Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame inductee, anchors The Back Burners with taste and authority. Renowned as one of New England’s premiere bassists, Marty has toured and recorded with Peter Wolf, Martin Sexton, Herb Ellis, Roomful of Blues, Cheryl Wheeler, Duke Robillard, John Hammond, Dan Moretti and Jimmy Witherspoon, among many others. Equally adept on upright and electric bass, his versatility and groove make him an essential force in the band’s dynamic rhythm section.

Vinny Pagano powers the Back Burners from behind the kit with precision, swing, and unshakable groove. A veteran drummer celebrated throughout New England and beyond, Vinny has performed with industry legends such as Burt Bacharach, Chuck Berry, Boz Scaggs, Chuck Mangione and many others. These experiences honed his command of both subtle dynamics and explosive drive. His deep pocket and seasoned feel form the heartbeat of the band’s high-energy performances.
