Join textile artist Pip Steel for an engaging talk exploring the history and practice of boro, a traditional Japanese technique centred on repair, reuse, and storytelling through cloth.
Pip will share insights into the cultural origins of boro; highlight some pieces featured in her exhibition, Boro – Timeworn Textiles of Japan; and show examples of her own work. Following the talk, she will be available in the People of the World Gallery to answer questions and discuss the exhibition in more depth.
This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the beauty of mending and the creative potential of recycled textiles.
