Bring your lawn chairs, family, and friends for an afternoon of live music, culture, community, food trucks, vendors, and fun for all ages! Admission is FREE, and everyone is welcome.
Dr. José Rizal Park is more than a Seattle landmark—it is the only park and bridge in the United States named in honor of Dr. José Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines. In the 1970s and 1980s, a dedicated group of Filipino American community leaders and volunteers worked tirelessly to make this vision a reality, creating a lasting symbol of cultural pride, education, friendship, and unity.
Today, while Dr. José Rizal Park remains a beautiful place overlooking the Seattle skyline, it has suffered years of wear and, more recently, the theft of its historic plaques (which have been replaced by the City) and time capsule. The park now needs our community’s help to restore, preserve, and protect this nationally significant landmark for future generations.
This year’s Rizal Park Jazz Festival honors the vision of Vic Bacho and Trinidad Rojo, along with the many Filipino American pioneers and community advocates whose dedication helped establish this nationally unique park and bridge.
We also would like to includes a special moment of remembrance with special tribute to two Filipino-Americans that were killed during the Negros 19 Masacre in April 2026
🕊️ Kai Dana-Renee Sorem, a beloved daughter of Seattle, whose life and commitment to justice touched so many.
🕊️ Lyle Prijoles, whose memory continues to inspire all who seek peace, justice, and human dignity.
As we gather through the universal language of music, we remember those whose lives remind us that compassion, courage, and unity can overcome division. May their legacy continue to inspire us to build stronger communities and work toward a more just and peaceful world.
Admission is FREE, but your support and donation is greatly appreciated.
