The Royal We began informally playing the late-night set at the Royal Room in Seattle every Wednesday night. The music is highly improvised, working from motifs and compositions by Wayne Horvitz, with an emphasis on grooves influenced by African pop music, 60’s modal jazz, and open improvisations. The music ranges from almost experimental to almost folkish, but with a singular sound.
