The 5 Kleshas: Yoga for Greater Freedom - 5-Week Yoga Series
More than 1,700 years ago, the Yoga Sutras described five Kleshas, or afflictions of the mind, that cloud our perception and contribute to suffering. And yet these ancient teachings couldn't feel more modern. Fear of change, attachment to what we want, resistance to what we don't want, getting caught in our identities, and simply not seeing things clearly—these patterns show up every day in our relationships, work, habits, bodies, and inner dialogue.
In this 5-week Yoga & Self-Inquiry series, we'll explore one Klesha each week through yoga philosophy, asana, pranayama, meditation, and self-inquiry. Rather than viewing the Kleshas as something we need to "get rid of," we'll learn to recognize them with greater awareness—and discover how yoga gives us practical tools to loosen their hold and move through life with greater clarity, steadiness, and freedom.
Our 5-Week Journey:
• Week 1 — Abhinivesha: Fear, Survival & Clinging to What We Know
• Week 2 — Raga: Attachment & Grasping
• Week 3 — Dvesha: Aversion & Resistance
• Week 4 — Asmita: The Stories of "I, Me & Mine"
• Week 5 — Avidya: Clearing the Veil
Come as you are. Bring your patterns, your questions, your resistance, your attachments—and your curiosity. Yoga gives us a place to work with all of it.
