About this Event
This session is designed to help health and safety professionals understand how DSEAR really works in everyday workplaces. Moving beyond paperwork and box‑ticking, Wendy Blyth will explore what good DSEAR looks like in real settings and why incidents still happen, even when organisations believe they are compliant.
You will hear about common gaps and misunderstandings, hidden fire and explosion risks, and some of the myths around DSEAR that can lead to a false sense of security. The focus will be on simple, effective controls that work in practice, not just in theory, helping you to reduce risk and improve safety on site.
Using real‑world examples and clear explanations, this talk will give you practical insights you can take back to your own workplace. Whether you are new to DSEAR or looking to refresh your knowledge, this session will help you think differently about managing dangerous substances, because when it comes to fires and explosions, it really does only take a spark.
