About this Event

What the session will cover?

The use of AI in the creation of media and films is developing fast. This session will give an up-to-date picture of how the technology is impacting creative media. It examines the public controversies from the use of AI in the Oscar-winning film, 'The Brutalist' to the forthcoming performance by an AI-resurrected Val Kilmer in a movie after his death.

The session centres on two key questions:

  • Should AI be used in the creation of the movies and TV programmes that we watch?
  • How do we as audiences respond to films if they have incorporated AI into their production?

Why you should come and what you will learn?

Join a discussion and contribute your voice to the big questions:

  • Should AI be outlawed in film and media?
  • Are there ways in which the technology can be used ethically?
  • What are the responsibilities of filmmakers when using AI?
  • How do we value films that have been created using AI Tools?
  • Whether you are an AI-sceptic or a tech enthusiast, this session will help you develop your response to media content in the AI era.
