· Wellbeing Leads
· Nursing/Midwifery
With increasing numbers of pupils presenting with anxiety, ASD, emotional dysregulation and exam-related stress, many schools are looking for practical strategies that support both staff wellbeing and pupil emotional resilience.
This practical, inclusive, fun and interactive CPD session introduces calming and regulation techniques, including Havening-informed approaches, grounding strategies and stress-management tools suitable for educational settings.
The session may be particularly valuable for:
· SENCOs,
· pastoral and safeguarding teams,
· wellbeing leads,
· SEND staff,
· teaching assistants,
· and staff supporting SATS,GCSE and A-Level pupils.
The aim is to equip staff with practical tools they can use immediately to support themselves and emotionally overwhelmed pupils within the school environment.
I would be grateful if this could be shared with the Senior Leadership Team for consideration and circulated to relevant staff. I’ve included a poster you can put in the staffroom to gauge interest or round robin via email.
If your school would like to register an initial interest, please get in touch.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Kind regards,
Jeanette

This CPD supports current national priorities around staff wellbeing, emotional regulation, SEND inclusion, mental health awareness, and whole-school approaches to wellbeing
What will this CPD day deliver?
It is aligned with several major priorities currently being discussed across UK education, especially around:
· staff wellbeing,
· burnout prevention,
· SEND inclusion,
· emotional regulation,
· trauma-informed practice,
· and mental health support in schools.
1. Staff Wellbeing & Burnout Prevention
The Department for Education and school leadership organisations are heavily focused on teacher stress, workload, retention, and burnout. The DfE’s Education Staff Wellbeing Charter has now been adopted by thousands of schools and colleges.
This CPD directly supports this because it gives staff:
· practical regulation techniques,
· calming strategies,
· and self-management tools during periods of stress.
2. SEND & Inclusion Reforms
There is currently a huge national focus on SEND reform and inclusion in mainstream schools.
Schools are under pressure to better support pupils with:
· ASD,
· ADHD,
· anxiety,
· emotionally based school avoidance,
· trauma,
· dysregulation,
· and SEMH needs.
At the same time, teachers are reporting feeling underprepared and emotionally overwhelmed supporting increasingly complex pupil needs.
3. Whole-School Mental Health Approaches
There is growing emphasis nationally on a “whole school approach” to mental health and wellbeing.
4. Ofsted & Wellbeing Awareness
Even Ofsted has increased its focus on wellbeing concerns following criticism around stress and pressure in education.
5. Exam Anxiety & Emotionally Dysregulated Pupils
Teacher organisations are reporting very high levels of:
· pupil anxiety,
· exam stress,
· absenteeism,
· emotional dysregulation,
· and mental health concerns in schools.
