Welcome to the Greatest American Cleanup – Turtle Beach!

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED WALK UP VOLUNTEERS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED

Join Keep Sarasota County Beautiful on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Turtle Beach for a morning of community service and positive impact. Locally, as part of the Greatest American Cleanup, a nationwide initiative led by Keep America Beautiful (KAB), we’re uniting with volunteers across the country to remove litter, revitalize public spaces, and make our communities cleaner and more vibrant. Volunteering offers benefits beyond just a cleaner community such as:

SITE CAPTAINS NEEDED!

Looking for service hours? Become a Site Captain and earn 6 HOURS of volunteer credit! This role includes a conveniently scheduled training and serving as the main point of contact during the event. Afterward, you'll help collect data on the litter removed from each location. Minimum age: 16 years old. Don't miss this leadership opportunity—sign up today! To register sign up for the cleanup and select yes to becoming a site captain during registration. Max 3 site captains per location.

WHERE TO MEET: We will meet beach side, at the boardwalk access by the play ground

RELEASE FORMS: After registering for the event on Eventbrite, be sure to fill out a release form prior to the event which can be done online. Step 2: GAC Release Form

TIME: Cleanup will begin at 8:00 AM

WHAT TO WEAR: Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes like sneakers, along with sun protection and clothing suitable for the weather.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Keep Sarasota County Beautiful will provide all cleanup supplies during supply pickup, which will take place from April 6-10, between 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM at 8750 Bee Ridge Rd. Upon arrival, if your location has a Site Captain, please check in first. If no Site Captain is assigned, you can begin your self-guided cleanup.

PARKING: Parking is available at the location. Carpooling is always encouraged!

Cleanup!

Info: During the main part of the event, you'll be actively removing litter from the cleanup site. This effort not only enhances the community but also has a positive impact on the surrounding environment. It's a fantastic opportunity to give back and make a meaningful difference!


🕑: 09:45 AM - 10:00 AM
Report

Info: During the final part of the event, you'll report your litter collection to either your site captain or electronically (if there is no site captain onsite). This step is crucial, especially if you're tracking service hours. Your efforts have played a key role in keeping Sarasota County beautiful—thank you for making a difference!
