Join us for an exciting four-day Teen Pottery Workshop designed for beginners, where you will learn the art of pottery on the wheel! This immersive experience will take place from July 13 to July 16, each day from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Children must be ages 12 to 18 to participate in this workshop.
Workshop Schedule
Day 1: Introduction to the Wheel and Clay - Get acquainted with the pottery wheel and the fundamentals of working with clay. Learn about different types of clay and the tools you'll be using throughout the workshop.
Day 2: Center & Control - Focus on mastering the essential techniques of centering and controlling the clay on the wheel. Develop your skills as you create your first pieces.
Day 3: Shape and Structure - Explore various shaping techniques to create unique forms. Learn how to add structure to your pieces, enhancing both their aesthetic and functional qualities.
Day 4: Beyond the Basics - Dive into advanced techniques and creative possibilities. Experiment with glazing and finishing touches to make your pottery truly your own.
This workshop is perfect for teens who are eager to explore their creativity and gain hands-on experience in pottery. All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary. Sign up today and unleash your inner artist!
Students will have the opportunity to return at a later date, once the pieces have been fired, at no additional charge. The drying and firing process, after the pieces are made, generally takes about 2 weeks.
