Step into a week of creativity, exploration, and hands-on discovery.
This action-packed camp blends visual art, creative writing, photography, and science, inviting students to explore how the natural world influences creativity. Inspired by the work of Pablo Picasso on view at the Museum of Art + Light, students will experiment, observe, and create across multiple disciplines.
Throughout the week, campers will:
- Learn to make observational notes and ‘sketches’ as both biologists and artists do.
- Explore native prairie plants as inspiration for artistic work.
- Create artwork using watercolor, photography, and other media.
- Write and reflect through creative writing exercises to shape poems.
- Visit local cultural institutions including the Flint Hills Discovery Center and the Beach Museum of Art.
