4-H Pre-Fair Workshop

Preparing for the Riley County Fair is an exciting experience, but we understand it can also be overwhelming for some of our 4-Hers and their families.
To help ease the process, we host an annual “Fair Preparation” event, where 4-Hers and Cloverbuds can connect with experts in a variety of project areas.
You can pick up fair supplies (clothing labels, photo mats/slips, entomology box labels, foods labels, food preservation labels) at this event or from the Extension Office at any time.
Possible project areas will include
Fashion Revue
Shopping in Style
Project Posters and Notebooks
Poultry
Rabbit
Geology (bring rock, mineral and fossil samples)
Photography (bring fair photo to mount)
Electricity
Computer Science
Rocketry (bring your rocket)
Plants
Flowers
Garden
Forestry (bring leaves to ID)
All 4-H exhibits (Cloverbuds and 4-Hers) will be required to participate in interview judging. We will be offer youth the opportunity to practice interview judging with a volunteer. This will be a relaxed, conversational opportunity where the focus will be more on the conversation than topic (i.e. tell me about your favorite 4-H project).
This is a come and go event for 4-H families.
