The Manhattan Parks and Recreation Foundation (MPRF) and our flagship sponsor, Bison Ridge Recycling, are thrilled to invite you to our Star Spangled Spectacular—an exciting, splash-tastic event for all families in the area!
Join us for a cardboard boat regatta like no other, happening every year on the Fourth of July!
Ready to set sail? This fun-filled event is perfect for the whole family!
Kid Captains (with the help of an adult guardian) will build a boat out of cardboard and duct tape that will be raced across City Pool!
-Youth Divisions for kids age 5-14
-Adult Divisions for those 14+
-Corporate Challenge
Get creative and design your vessel for a splashing good time at City Pool! Teams will include one child Captain and a guardian to help build the boat while Adult Divisions allow you to build your boat prior to your arrival. The $35 entry fee includes, cardboard, duct tape, and a t-shirt to commemorate the event!
Don’t forget to bring your imagination and your engineering skills!
We’ll have prizes for the fastest boats to race across the water! Whether you're gliding across the pool like a sea breeze or showing off an innovative design, there’s fun for everyone!
Safety first! Lifeguards will be on-site to keep everyone safe, and we encourage everyone to wear a life jacket if they need one—safety is our number one priority!
This event is all about coming together as a community, showing off creativity, and having a blast while learning about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) in a fun, hands-on way. We can't wait to see what amazing boats you build!
