Taste of Pogue's Run Summer Bike Ride
About this Event
The tour begins and ends at the Factory Arts District and includes tastings from food and drink spots between Highland Park and Brookside Park. Along the way, riders will stop at the Kan Kan Theater to watch short videos and learn more about the mission of Friends of Pogue’s Run. Participants will also explore local history and landmarks, including the point where Pogue’s Run disappears underground, a photo stop at Highland Park with the city skyline, and other stories from the Near Eastside.
Event Details
· Date and Time: Sunday, July 19, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
· Location: Factory District parking lot at Brookside and 11th St. (see map)
· Cost: $40 per person, including all tastings and samples. The ride will take place rain or shine unless lightning is detected. You may cancel up to 48 hours before the ride for a refund.
What to Know Before You Ride
· The tour is limited to 30 riders and is open to adults ages 21 and over.
· Don’t have a bike? You can rent one from the nearby Pacers Bikeshare station.
· Please bring your own water bottle. A water jug will be available at the starting and midway points for refills.
· Helmets are encouraged, though not required.
Why It Matters
Proceeds from the tour support Friends of Pogue’s Run’s ongoing efforts to keep the waterway clean and healthy through trash cleanups, invasive plant removal, native plantings, and also community outreach and education programs.
