No Spandex Required Ride

Join us every Saturday afternoon for a FREE beginner-friendly, 4-10 mile group bike ride that highlights how the Indianapolis Cultural Trail serves as the hub of Indianapolis’ trail network. Every week, we explore different greenways, destinations and neighborhoods that are accessible by bicycle from the Cultural Trail and the Pacers Bikeshare network. In addition to the bike ride, we will also make a stop at a local brewery or beverage stop along the way to rest, enjoy an optional drink, and socialize with fellow riders.

Biking Options
Bring your own bike or use a Pacers Bikeshare bike. We will have a limited number of Pacers Bikeshare bike for each ride. Pacers Bikeshare is complimentary for Annual, IndyRides Free, and Butler, members, and available to rental for non-members for $25. Those wanting a Pacers Bikeshare must register for one ahead of time on Eventbrite with appropriate ticket, be 18 years old, and sign the additional waiver. Helmets for riders are highly encouraged, so bring your own or borrow one of ours.

Unable to ride or not comfortable on a traditional two-wheel bike? Pacers Bikeshare offers a variety of adaptable bikes that can be reserved. However, reservations for an adapable bike must be complete 48 hours in advance of ride.

Ride Information

No Spandex Required Ride is a beginner-friendly group ride that welcomes all paces and experience levels. Each week the ride route will change, but it will utilize trails, cycletracks, and other bike infrastructure. Low-traffic, bike-friendly roads may be used as needed. Participants should feel comfortable riding for up to 10 miles at a casual, conversational pace and in a group ride setting. Approximately 1 hour will be biking with a roughly 30-45 minute break.

Registration

Space is limited and registration is required for every rider. Since this ride will stop ay a brewery or other local beverage establishment, participants should be 21+.

Please be sure to register for the date(s) you are able to attend and for the appropriate ticket type (i.e Bring Your Own Bike, I Need a Pacers Bikeshare Bike: Member, I Need a Pacers Bikeshare Bike: Nonmember). A waitlist will be available if the event 'sells out.' We politely ask you only register if you can attend and if your plans change, that you release your ticket so someone else may enjoy the ride.

Info: Grab a Pacer Bikeshare bike if reserved, check in, and meet the group! We'll have helmets to borrow and tools in case you need any last minute adjustments. Our ride leader will go over route and group ride instructions before we depart.

Info: Total ride time will be roughly 1 hour with a 30-45 minute stop to rest, socialize and enjoy a drink if you choose. All drink purchases are on our own. Ride route and location vary each time, but will be roughly 4-10 miles on trails, bike lanes, and low-traffic streets. Ride pace is typically 8-13 mph depending on location and group.
