TAKING UP SPACE
July 17-August 14 at the Gibbes Museum of Art
This exhibition brings together a remarkable collection of works that celebrate presence in all its forms, from the physical to the emotional, the personal to the universal. Each piece is a declaration of visibility, confidence, and creative power.
Artists whose perspectives have too often been overlooked have always been part of the story of art. Their work, vision, and contributions belong within our cultural landscape, whether history has acknowledged them or not.
TAKING UP SPACE is both a celebration and a reminder: These artists are not asking to be included. They have always belonged.
Opening Reception on Friday, July 17th from 5 pm - 8 pm.
