Proven Benefits of Tai Chi in Arthritis

1. Improved Joint Flexibility & Mobility

  • Gentle stretching helps maintain or improve range of motion.
  • Supports better alignment and movement in daily activities.

2. Reduced Pain & Stiffness

  • Regular Tai Chi practice can reduce pain perception.
  • Breath-led movement soothes nervous system responses that exacerbate pain.

3. Stronger Muscles

Tai Chi helps strengthen the muscles around joints, which provides better support and reduces pressure on inflamed areas.

4. Better Balance & Coordination

  • Arthritis can affect balance, especially in older adults. Tai Chi can help with reducing fall risk.
  • Improved Mood & Sleep
  • Studies show Tai Chi can reduce anxiety and depressive symptoms, and promote better sleep in people with chronic pain conditions.
