Join Swim Angelfish for an immersive, 4-hour Swim Whisperers® In-Water Workshop at the AOAP Pre-Conference in Reno, Nevada.
This hands-on training is designed for swim instructors who want to take the concepts from Swim Whisperers® Level 1 and put them into practice in the water.
You’ll work through interactive, experiential exercises designed to help you:
• Identify individual swimmer needs using the Swim Whisperers® 14 Roadblocks
• Apply the Areas of Focus to help swimmers progress through your learn-to-swim curriculum
• Build more effective progressions and lead-up skills
• Adjust lesson pacing for private, semi-private, and small-group instruction
• Use strategies to address rigidity, reactivity, and difficulty following a plan
• Work with swimmers who are anxious or oppositional
• Practice grading physical prompts as you work toward greater swimmer independence
• Improve your use of space and equipment during lessons
• Develop practical techniques you can immediately apply with swimmers with special needs
The workshop will include both in-water experiential learning and land-based discussion, giving you the opportunity to practice techniques—not just talk about them.
The training will be led by Ailene Tisser, PT, and Cindy Freedman, OT, co-founders of the Swim Whisperers® Methodology. You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with other professionals committed to building more inclusive swim environments.
