Sweaty and breathless, I’m slumped staring at my dripping dogs. We are three victims of unsustainability, although our discomfort is nothing compared to the distress being experienced by others. It's June 2026 and whilst I’d bet a pound that football will not be coming home, climate breakdown has come home to hurt the UK with a searing heatwave. No shade is cool enough for Sid and Nancy (poodles, miniature, black), so they’ve been under the garden hose and I’m reading that politicians are bickering over the Seventh Carbon Plan because some want to continue to exploit fossil fuels and eat more meat. Its just plain bonkers . So how are we going to fix this? Change. Change. The bigger question is how are we going to get people to change? You see, the world will be lost if a lot of good people do nothing, and in fact there are a lot of exciting opportunities for us all to do something. We can choose, do nothing – be a part of the problem or change what we do and be part of the solution. So what are you going to do?

About Chris Packham
Extraordinarily creative and prolific, Chris Packham has led a remarkable life. He’s gained recognition as a naturalist, television presenter, writer, photographer, conservationist, campaigner and filmmaker. He is best known for his environmental, climate, and animal welfare activism. His TV credits include Springwatch and Earth for the BBC and Is it Time to Break the Law for Channel 4. Alongside his ambassadorial roles for numerous NGOs, he runs independent campaigns aimed at nature recovery and ending animal cruelty. Chris is also a vocal advocate for neurodiversity with a special focus on autism. His mantras are “winning is not giving up” and “shout above the noise”.
