Join us on Sunday 13th September for the next Summertown Swing Sunday Tea Dance Club. It is an afternoon of fabulous music, social dancing and traditional tea dance hospitality in the heart of Summertown, Oxford.
Please do share this and invite your friends along.
Our Sunday Tea Dance brings a little 1940s glamour to a relaxed Sunday afternoon. St Michael’s Church Hall is dressed for the occasion with colourful fabric bunting, while our DJs provide the soundtrack with wonderful original Big Band Jazz and Swing from the golden age of dancing.
The biggest reason to come is our wonderful Oxford dance floor.
One of the pleasures of dancing at St Michael’s is its superb wooden dance floor. Add our purpose-built sound system. These combine to provide you with a wonderful afternoon of music, entertainment and fun. With carefully selected music, we have everything we need for three hours of great social dancing.
Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, Jive and other swing dance styles are all welcome as well as Foxtrot and Quick Step ballroom styles. You don’t need to arrive with a partner, and there’s no pressure to dance every number. Come to dance, socialise, enjoy the music or simply soak up the atmosphere.
Tea, cake and cucumber sandwiches
Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Sunday Tea Dance without afternoon tea.
Throughout the afternoon we'll be serving tea, coffee and squash alongside cakes and cucumber sandwiches. Everything is included in the admission price so please do dig in! We try to keep the event affordable and open to everyone so bring your friends for a wonderful afternoon of Jazz Swing.
There is no need to book ahead, just come along and pay on the door. We accept cash, cards and contactless forms of payment.
Whether you're one of our regular dancers or have never visited us before, you'll receive a warm welcome.
Come and spend a September Sunday afternoon with us: three hours of music, dancing, tea and cake, a beautiful dance floor and the unmistakable sound of the Big Band era.
We look forward to welcoming you to St Michael’s on Sunday 13th September.
