The Mould, the Myth and the Microbe cinema showing + Q&A
About this Event
Following the Friends of the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter's sold-out film screening and panel discussion in January, we are delighted to present another special event celebrating Oxford's role in one of the most important medical discoveries in history.
Join us on 13 September for an exclusive screening, in partnership with the Royal Society of Medicine, in the Cinema Room at the new Schwarzman Centre.
We will be showing the 1986 BBC 2 Horizon documentary, The Mould, the Myth and the Microbe which explores the discovery and development of penicillin and the remarkable scientific story behind one of medicine's greatest breakthroughs.
Following the screening, we will be joined by an expert panel for a discussion reflecting on the documentary, the history of penicillin, and its enduring impact on modern medicine.
