Submission Party: Move on the Move-On Orders X Legislation (Definitions of Woman and Man) Amendment

The Government is amending the Summary Offences Act 1981 to give police powers to issue ‘Move-On’ orders for people who are among other things: ‘rough sleeping’ and ‘begging’.

While the National-NZ First-ACT Coalition government has made political choices to increase homelessness - through shutting down emergency housing, cutting services and cancelling thousands of state house builds - they are now actively pushing through legislation which will criminalise people for not having access to decent housing.
One way to let your voice be heard is to make a submission on the Summary Offences (Move-On Orders) Amendment Bill. Come and write submissions with us to demand parliament move on the move on orders.
